Blessed with the natural beauty of Lake Harrison, the surrounding mountains and its natural hot springs, Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia, has long been a favorite destination among Canadians and foreigners. And located within one hour’s driving distance from Metro-Vancouver, it is an ideal weekend gateway destination for the local residents of one of Canada’s largest cities.

While interested in attracting overseas inbound Chinese tourists to its scenic town and surroundings, Tourism Harrison is especially interested in attracting the Chinese residents living in the Metro Vancouver area. The Chichaku marketing team collaborated with Tourism Harrison in putting together a marketing package which included a mini- official tourism English/Chinese website hosted in the travel section of Chichaku.com, Weibo marketing on Sina, and co-ordination of local Chinese journalists covering various events and festivities in the area throughout the year.

By having a Chinese mini-site hosted on Chichaku, Harrison is able to cost effectively reach out to the Chinese speaking population without incurring significant costs in translating their English website into Chinese and maintaining it thereafter.  Through its managed Weibo account and Chinese press coverage of their major events, Tourism Harrison is in a position to attract Chinese tourists from not only mainland China but also those living right in North America (see also our post  Chinese tourists living in your own backyard).
